What Happens in Your First Dental Exam in Ruabon

Doing nothing is only reassuring if it's done properly.

You booked a check-up, or maybe a crown came off, or your old dentist retired. Whatever brought you here, before we fix or plan anything, we need the whole story first.

It's a Conversation, Not a Checklist

Your first exam isn't pulled from a template. It's built around your mouth, your history, and your goals, because two patients with the same chipped tooth can need completely different conversations depending on what's actually behind it and what matters to them.

You Decide What Matters Most

Our job is to find what's going on. Your job is to help us prioritise what actually matters to you. What looks serious to us clinically isn't always what's bothering you, and what you're worried about isn't always the thing with the worst prognosis. We're here to guide that conversation, not steer past it.

What Actually Happens

A conversation about your concerns, goals, and medical history. Clinical photos, so you can see what we see. An examination of teeth, gums, and bite. A check of jaw joints and muscles. X-rays if needed. Then we go through what we've found together and build a written plan.

Even a Clean Result Takes Work

A healthy, no-symptom exam doesn't mean we've done less — we're still working through tooth structure, gum health, an oral cancer screen, bite and jaw function, existing restorations, medical history links, and more, all within a single appointment slot. If it feels quick, it usually means you're already doing the right things.
