There are two very different things people mean by "composite bonding." One is a single tooth, repaired or reshaped, priced individually — that's covered on the treatments and fees pages. The other is a full smile makeover: digital design, a bespoke mock-up from the lab, whitening built in, and a complete set of teeth bonded to a planned result. This post is about the second one.
The Smile Design Process
It starts with a 3D digital scan — no impressions, just precise mapping of every tooth. From that, we build a digital mock-up of the proposed result, which you see and respond to before anything touches your teeth. You tell us what you like and what you'd change; we tell you what's clinically achievable. The final design is agreed between us, not handed to you as a finished decision.
Only once that's settled does a 3D-printed blueprint go to the lab, so the bonding appointment itself is executing an already-agreed plan rather than improvising on the day.
Why Whitening Comes First
Before any bonding on a makeover case, we brighten the natural teeth using professional whitening. That's not cosmetic sequencing — it's calibration. Whitening lets us match new composite precisely to the lightened shade of your own enamel, rather than building bright new teeth next to teeth that are still their original colour. What the Packages Cost
Pricing depends on how many teeth are involved and whether it's upper only or upper and lower. A 4-tooth upper case (2-2) with whitening and smile design included runs from £2,500. A 6-tooth case (3-3) is £3,300. Fuller cases — 8, 10, or 12 teeth, or a combined upper and lower case — range from £4,200 up to £7,500 depending on scope. Every package includes the digital design work, professional whitening, the bonding itself, and a 12-month guarantee against material failure or detachment, subject to normal wear conditions.
What You're Actually Paying For
Not the resin itself — that's the smallest part of the cost. You're paying for the hours of hand-sculpting under magnification, custom shade layering, the digital design and lab liaison before a single tooth is touched, and the follow-up and maintenance built into the guarantee. Anyone can add composite to a tooth. Making it invisible against the teeth beside it takes training, time, and a proper design process behind it.
The Guarantee
Every makeover case carries a 12-month guarantee covering repairs or breakages, localised colour issues like small air bubbles, and material integrity under normal use. It doesn't cover obvious misuse — biting hard objects, trauma — or natural staining over time, which polishing addresses instead.
